Job Summary:
Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Registered Nurse position available in Salem, Virginia. This role involves providing specialized nursing care within an inpatient rehabilitation unit, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support patient functional improvements and independence goals. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment focused on comprehensive patient care.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Virginia nursing license; BLS certification; prior experience in Medical-Surgical or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settings; at least 1 year of nursing experience in related fields
• Preferred Qualifications: Rehabilitation experience
• Additional Information:
  • Unit specifics include a 35-bed inpatient rehab unit with patient ratios of 5-7:1.
  • Staffing comprises 2-4 technicians per census and unit secretaries.
  • Equipment utilized includes vitals machines, Baxter intravenous pumps, sequential compression devices, and bladder scanners.
  • Documentation is managed via the Meditech system.
  • Procedures performed include medication administration (including IVs, PICC, PEG tubes), bladder scans, trach care, tube feeding, Foley catheter management, bladder irrigation, and blood administration.
  • Dress code requires navy blue or white solid scrubs.
  • Float policy allows for floating to other Medical-Surgical departments as needed.
  • The unit offers a collaborative environment involving nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychiatrists, physician assistants, and neuropsychologists to improve patient outcomes.
