Job Summary:
Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) registered nurse position is based in Salem, Virginia. This role involves providing specialized care to patients in a Long Term Acute Care setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery and functional independence. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on patient-centered outcomes.

Job Details:

• Shift Details: 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Must have Med/Surg or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Virginia nursing license
• Preferred Qualifications: Rehab care experience and advanced skills are not required but are advantageous
• Patient Care Procedures: Includes medication administration (including IVs, PICC lines, PEG tubes), bladder scans, trach care, tube feeding, Foley catheter placement, bladder irrigation, and blood administration
• Unit Specifics:
  • Number of Beds: 35
  • Patient Ratios: 5-7:1
  • Staffing: Typically 2-4 technologists per census, with available unit secretaries and techs
  • Equipment: Vitals machines, Baxter intravenous pumps, sequential compression devices (SCDs), bladder scanner
  • Documentation System: Meditech
  • Scheduling: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend
• Float Policy: May be floated to other medical-surgical departments as needed
• Dress Code: Navy blue or white solid scrubs
• Additional Information: Opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, physiatrists, physician assistants, and neuropsychologists to support patient rehabilitation and goal achievement
