Description

Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Lynchburg, Virginia. This position involves working night shifts in a 12-hour rotation, providing care for a diverse patient population including medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac, neuro, and stroke patients. The RN will participate in charge responsibilities, contribute to a collaborative team environment, and support the educational integration of students and new hires within a teaching hospital setting.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Virginia license or compact license, active VA / Compact license required upon start, no minimum experience required, excellent communication skills, and current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior charge nurse experience, Cerner electronic health record system familiarity, and experience working in a teaching hospital environment.
  • Additional Information: Orientation occurs every other Monday, with start dates on 07/29, 08/10, or 08/24. Previous travel experience is required for all positions in this facility. The RN will work with a mixed patient acuity level group, including neuro, cardiac, and stroke diagnoses, with a unit culture that encourages support and mentorship, especially towards students and new hires. The role involves potential client-cancelled shifts up to 36 hours prior due to census needs. RTO (Return to Office) is limited, with some weekends preferred but not guaranteed.
