Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Neurology Floor Nurse position is based in Boise, Idaho. This role involves providing specialized care for neuro patients with diagnoses such as stroke, spine and cranial surgeries, neuro disorders, and neuro intervention procedures. The assigned shift is the Night shift, with working hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, requiring a minimum of 48 hours per week. The position is suitable for licensed Registered Nurses with at least two years of experience in a solid Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting, with preferred neuro experience.

Job Details:

• Location: Boise, Idaho
• Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with weekends as needed; first to float support to other Med-Surg areas
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS certification (AHA or ARC), NIHSS certification, minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry nursing, with preferred neuro experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in stroke or neuro patient care, first-time traveler acceptable.
• Workflow & Support: Charge RN present on each shift, nurse aides/PCTs (CNAs) at a ratio of 1:8, Neuro NPs provide 24/7 support for neuro surgical and neuro intervention patients.
• Equipment & Monitoring: RT equipment available, including CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, Trachs; no tele/monitor techs currently, incoming summer 2024.
• Orientation: 2 days of practical training plus a didactic day with unit-based educator.
• Floats: Support all Treasure Valley Medical Surgical areas, with travelers expected to float as needed.
• Dress Code: No specific color required; scrubs should be clean and professional.
• Additional notes: Facility adheres to a 50-mile radius rule for candidates' permanent addresses; submission must include proof of address outside this radius to proceed.
