Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (MedSurg) care is sought for a facility located in Boise, Idaho. This role involves providing skilled nursing care on a high-acuity MedSurg unit that supports diverse surgical specialties, including bariatric, urological, colorectal, vascular, gynecological, and plastic surgery patients. The position requires a dedicated nursing professional with proficiency in central line management, NG tube care, ostomies, and drainage systems.

Job Details:

  • Location: Boise, Idaho
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Schedule: Three consecutive night shifts per week, with possibility of additional shifts; weekends and holidays as needed
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; minimum of 2 years of MedSurg nursing experience, proficiency with central lines, NG tubes, ostomies, drain management, and professional communication skills. Experience with CBIs and Foley management is preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with heparin drips and the ability to read strips for remote tele monitoring is required.
  • Float Requirements: Floating to similar MedSurg units at local hospitals may be required; travelers are first to float.
  • Additional Information:
    • Nurse aides (CNAs) are scheduled at ratios of 1:8-10.
    • EMR system in use is EPIC.
    • The unit follows a radius rule of 50 miles for candidate eligibility.
    • Orientation includes one unit-specific shift plus a didactic session with an educator.
    • Staffing includes charge nurses without patient assignments and unit leadership support.
    • No specific scrub color mandated; professional and clean attire required.
