Description

Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse with specialization in Open Heart procedures, located in Detroit, Michigan. This position involves providing leadership in the coordination and delivery of compassionate, high-quality patient care. The role requires utilizing the nursing processassessment, planning, implementation, and evaluationto deliver, delegate, supervise, and document care and patient education. Effective communication of pertinent patient and family information to the health care team is essential, along with participating in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensuring proper implementation.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Day shifts with options for five 8-hour shifts, four 10-hour shifts, or three 12-hour shifts, all with a 6 a.m. start time. 48 hours of call in a six-week schedule period are required, including availability for one weekend per month. Shift hours: 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), and OR experience with Cardiac Scrub experience. Must be licensed in Michigan and have at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

  • Additional Information: This is a critical fill position with a duration of 13 weeks. The assignment includes participation in on-call duties, with 48 hours of call per six-week schedule. The nurse must be flexible to work multiple shift options starting at 6 a.m., and experience in operating room and open heart procedures is essential.
