Job Summary:
The operating room (OR) specialty nurse specializing in open heart procedures is responsible for providing high-quality patient care within the scope of practice defined by regulatory requirements, standards of care, and hospital policies. This role involves supporting surgical teams, ensuring patient safety before, during, and after cardiac surgeries, and contributing to positive clinical outcomes in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: Dayshift, 8 hours shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (CA-RN) license, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred, at least 1 year of experience in operating room open heart specialty, proficiency in communication in English, current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac surgical procedures, skills in patient assessment specific to open heart cases, and familiarity with operating room protocols for cardiac surgeries.
• Additional Information: The role includes collaborating with surgical teams, monitoring patient vitals, assisting with anesthesia and cardia equipment, ensuring sterile environment, and adhering to safety and infection control standards. The nurse will also participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and contribute to team development through education and mentoring. The position starts on 08/24/2026 at the designated healthcare facility location.
