Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse specializing in Open Heart procedures in Palo Alto, California. This role involves providing comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care within the scope of practice for registered nurses, supporting patient recovery and safety during surgical procedures. The position requires collaboration with the surgical team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: CA-RN (Registered Nurse) license, current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred, ability to communicate effectively in English, 0 years of experience minimum
- Additional Information: The Clinical Nurse (CN) provides hands-on care to patients undergoing open heart surgeries, performing all steps of the nursing process including assessment, care planning, and implementation. The RN monitors patient responses, collaborates with the healthcare team, and educates patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery. The role emphasizes family-centered care, safety, and continuous professional development.
