Job Summary:
A Surgical Technician (Operating Room Technician) position is available in Palo Alto, California. The role involves supporting the surgical team by preparing instrumentation and supplies, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting during surgical procedures. The position requires the ability to anticipate surgeon needs, handle specimens and medications correctly, and ensure patient safety throughout operative processes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shift with 12 hours shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Completion of a formal, structured program for Surgical Technology. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working in an operating room environment is advantageous but not required.
• Additional Information: The Surgical Technologist will act as a member of the surgical team, performing duties such as passing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, assisting with surgical counts, and preparing the surgical field. Candidates must demonstrate good communication skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of surgical procedures and anatomy. Accountability for ongoing professional development and adherence to safety policies is essential.
