Job Summary
Palo Alto, California The Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician will join the healthcare provider's surgical team in providing patient care during surgical procedures. This role involves preparation of instrumentation and materials, passing instruments to the surgeon, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting room turnover. The position requires a dedicated individual capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shift; 12 hours shift time; minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Completion of a formal, structured program for Surgical Technology. Ability to apply sound judgment and make informed decisions. Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus. Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions. Effective communication in all practice areas. Knowledge of normal/abnormal anatomy and physiology. Understanding of basic surgical procedures and the principles of sterile technique. Knowledge of computer systems and adherence to hospital policies. Takes accountability for professional and clinical growth.
• Licenses and Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support; CST - Certified Surgical Technologist preferred
• Additional Information: The role involves handling specimens and medications, maintaining sterile technique, performing surgical counts, and preparing the surgical field with necessary supplies and equipment. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of safety procedures and adhere to healthcare policies and practices.
