Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse (RN) position located in Hastings, Nebraska. This role involves providing patient care on a 30-bed unit with a focus on diverse diagnoses such as dementia, post-surgical recovery, influenza, pneumonia, cancer, and COVID-19. The position requires adaptable nursing skills within a fast-paced acute care setting and involves rotating shifts of 12 hours.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing, and current residence within a 50-mile radius of the facility.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with chest tubes, pain management, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), wound care, and charge nurse responsibilities are considered a plus but are not mandatory.
• Float: Floating to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) may be required to assist with overflow or low acuity patients.
• Additional Information: Nurses will participate in two days of departmental orientation plus one day on the floor. Staffing requests include working every third weekend and holiday with flexibility expected. The unit is equipped with RT equipment, tele-monitoring, and nurse aides. No call or standby duties are required.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• License: Active nursing license required for immediate submission.
