Job Summary:
The Orthopedic Medical Surgical Nursing position is located in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves providing patient care on a unit with 43 private rooms, managing a wide variety of medical surgical and postoperative orthopedic cases. The position requires clinical expertise in postoperative surgical care and general medical-surgical nursing, with an emphasis on patient safety and effective teamwork during night shifts.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 07/20/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois registered nurse license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; BLS certification (American Heart Association); a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in surgical or medical-surgical nursing; active Illinois license or confirmation of licensure application.
- Department: Orthopedic | RN.
- Beds: 43 all private rooms.
- Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 on 12-hour days and 1:5-6 on 12-hour nights.
- Job Responsibilities: Managing diverse medical surgical and postoperative orthopedic cases, trauma cases with fractures, and performing troubleshooting for CPAP and heated high flow equipment.
- Certifications: BLS (AHA).
- Additional Information: Local rate applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles; orientation includes 12 hours of non-billable hours; primary charge nurse each shift; house supervisor on duty 24/7; possible occasional float to similar floors; scrubs of any color required, adult professional appearance; tattoos and piercings must be covered.
