Description

Job Summary:
The healthcare organization is seeking a qualified Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cardiac Cath Lab) specialist for a position located in Bloomington, Illinois. This role involves working in a high-acuity environment, performing procedures related to cardiac catheterization, and adhering to departmental protocols and safety standards. The position offers a dynamic and fast-paced setting, with opportunities to work with a skilled team on complex cardiovascular cases.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with potential late stays depending on case volume
  • Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license or confirmation that application has been initiated; certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA); minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or similar setting; the ability to admit, prep, and recover procedural cases from Cath, Interventional Radiology (IR), and Electrophysiology (EP); proficiency in reading tele strips and titrating drips; knowledge of intravenous medications; experience with peripheral angio cases and neuro intervention preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with peripheral angio and neuro intervention procedures is advantageous.
  • Additional Information: The unit works predominantly with cases involving STEMI, stroke, drain placement, line placement, heart catheterizations, peripheral angios, inferior vena cava (IVC) placement, temporary pacemaker insertion, transthoracic echocardiograms (TEEs), cardioversions, and electrophysiological studies. The EMR system is Epic, and Philips monitoring equipment is utilized. A charge nurse is available during shifts, and hospital scrubs are provided. Orientation typically lasts one week (four shifts). The client adheres to a 12-hour call policy every 13 weeks, with local rate considerations for clinicians residing within 50 miles of the facility.
