Description
Job Summary:
The operating room (OR) open heart specialty position is located in Pittsburgh, PA. This role involves providing specialized cardiothoracic surgical coverage in a Level 1 Trauma setting. The candidate will be responsible for assisting with cardiac robotics, LVAD, and heart transplant procedures, among other neuro, orthopedic, and vascular cases. The position requires flexibility across day, evening, and night shifts, with call responsibilities and a fast response time.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, with a 10-hour shift, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 08/03/2026. Shift times include days, evenings, and nights; call and weekends are required. Call response time is 30 minutes, with in-house call rooms available.
- Required Qualifications: Certified with NCCT-TS-C or NBSTSA-CST certification (cannot accept other certifications or uncertified candidates); minimum 2 years of recent CV-OR Level 1 Trauma experience within the last 3 years, including at least 1 year of that experience. Recent travel experience of at least 1 year. Ability to scrub in the operating room. Strong experience with cardiac robotics, LVAD, and heart transplant procedures. Also proficient in general orthopedic, neuro, vascular, trauma, robotics, and transplant cases.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in cardiac robotics, LVAD, and transplant procedures is highly desirable.
- Additional Information: Candidates must be vaccinated for Flu and COVID-19, with medical or religious declinations accepted. The assignment is located in Pittsburgh, PA, within 50 miles of the candidates residence for the local rate consideration.
