Description
Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in a healthcare facility located in Plattsburgh, New York. The role involves providing patient care in the IMCU setting, with a focus on acute patient assessment and intervention. The assignment is scheduled to start on July 27, 2026, and will last approximately 13 to 16 weeks, with a night shift schedule. This position requires working every other weekend and adjusting schedules as needed to meet patient care requirements.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- Certifications: AHA (American Heart Association) BLS (Basic Life Support), AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) required; NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year telemetry (tele) experience required
- Skills: Insulin drips, cardiac drips, starting IVs, post cardiac catheterization
- Epic electronic medical record experience from within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
- Licensing: New York license, or proof of application with applied date, required at the time of submission. License application process may take 6-8 weeks.
- Additional Information:
- This assignment is a backfill need with an ASAP start date.
- The facility requires all work history details (bed count, EMR system, facility type, etc.) to be complete for application submission.
- No block schedules are available.
- Bi-weekly orientation sessions are held on Mondays.
- All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained.
- Reliable transportation, such as a personal or rental vehicle, is strongly recommended as public transportation is not accessible in this area.
- Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April.
