Description
Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) registered nurse position in Dallas, Texas. The role involves providing specialized care for neonates, including preemies and infants with complex medical needs, in a busy level III NICU unit. The position offers an opportunity to work with advanced equipment and collaborate within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification, experience caring for preemies (at least 28 weeks and above), management of central lines, respiratory management including intubated patients, at least 1 year of neonatal intensive care experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with surgical patients, cardiac patients, care of trach infants, experience with broviacs, procedures such as central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laps, gastroschisis reductions, PDA ligations
- Additional Information: The unit is staffed with RNs, licensed vocational nurses (LVNs), patient care technicians (PCTs), and nurse externs. It utilizes equipment such as nasal cannula, bubble CPAP, vents, oscillators, IV pumps, NIRS, warmers, isolettes, and documentation systems including CPN and Meditech. The unit maintains policies and guidelines specific to neonatal care and fosters a team-oriented environment. Candidates will be expected to float to other pediatric units, including Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Pediatrics, and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CICU), prior to other staff.
