Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in Lubbock, Texas. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care in a busy short-term acute care facility. The position requires flexibility to float between units and will support an essential surgical and emergency general surgery unit opening.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), at least 1 year of clinical experience in Medical Surgery (MS), proficiency with Epic electronic charting system, and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in trauma level II facility or acute care surgery, and familiarity with high-acuity patient management.
- Float: Float to multiple units based on hospital needs.
- Additional Information: This role supports a new acute care surgery, trauma, and emergency general surgery unit. Candidates should demonstrate competency in handling surgical, trauma, and general medical patients, with skills in central line management, wound care, respiratory management, and post-operative care. The position requires adherence to hospital protocols and on-call flexibility may be limited.
