Description
Job Summary:
This healthcare organization in Oakland, California is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a night shift position. The role involves providing high-quality care to adult patients with complex medical conditions, including sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and other acute and chronic illnesses. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment with a focus on patient-centered care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12 hours shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid California RN license, current BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications, at least 3 years of RN ICU experience, and 6 months of travel experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in community hospital settings, LTAC (Long Term Acute Care) experience, trauma level I or II experience
- Float: Floating may be required to other units within the scope of practice; all travelers should be flexible with floating to different campuses or units, with notice of approximately 1.5 hours prior to shift start. Transportation via shuttle may be provided if floating is requested
- On-Call and Weekend Coverage: On-call as needed, with weekend coverage required. No specific patient ratios provided
- Patient Population: Adults, with a daily census of approximately 16-20 patients
- Additional Responsibilities: Managing arterial lines, chest tube procedures, blood product administration, ventilator management, cardiac monitoring, invasive lines, and various other critical care procedures
- Certifications and Experience Verification: Certifications must be current and uploaded with valid expiration dates. Candidates are required to have at least 2 years of relevant experience with supporting documentation to seek approval from facility HR
- Compliance and Onboarding: Labs to be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing, with all documentation due 10 days prior to start date. Re-orientation is required only if the traveler has been separated for more than 6 months since last shift at the facility
