Description

Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse - Santa Rosa, California. This position involves providing specialized surgical nursing care within the operating room environment. Candidates must have trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic experience to meet the specific needs of the facility's trauma cases. The role requires working night shifts, including potential coverage of one night shift within the contract, with responsibilities across various surgical specialties.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: California licensed registered nurse with minimum of 0 years of experience; BLS certification required; trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic surgical experience preferred; current BLS certification required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic charting system; previous OR charge nurse experience; trauma level I or II certification a plus.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities.
  • Additional Information:
    • Must be willing to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
    • Must include RTO restrictions at time of submission
    • Must submit 2 references covering 1 year (6 months for CNAs) within the past 3 years
    • Must hold a valid California license in hand
    • Night shifts are typically staffed with one RN and one surgical tech, or two RNs, with one acting as the scrub nurse
    • No unit secretary during night shift; may need to cover one night shift as needed within the contract
    • Travelers are expected to float between hospital units or nearby affiliate hospitals as required
    • Remote communication devices must be provided or arranged by the organization at no cost to the traveler
