Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse in San Francisco, California. This position involves providing specialized care to neonates and infants in a Level III NICU setting. The role requires clinical expertise in neonatal patient care, including ventilator management, line insertions, and various respiratory modes. The candidate will work during night shifts with a focus on critical care and patient stability.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM), minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid California State License, Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), 1 year of neonatal intensive care experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing ventilators (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), line insertions (PICC, UVC, UAC), and neonatal procedures such as bronchoscopy, VCUG, and MRI.
  • Additional Information: The role involves caring for surgical neonates and infants 23 weeks and up, with responsibilities including line management, ventilator care, and implementing isolation precautions. The unit features interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services. The daily census is approximately 23 patients in a facility with 35 beds.
  • Submission Requirements: Candidates must provide recent Nursys licensure verification, relevant certifications, and references within the last year. Experience minimum is 2 years of neonatal intensive care.
