Job Summary
Psychiatric Unit Registered Nurse in Oregon City, OR. This position involves providing specialized mental health care to adolescent and pediatric patients within a short-term acute care setting. The role requires a focus on patient safety, mental health management, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support patient recovery and well-being.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, and a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a psychiatric or community hospital setting.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pediatric and adolescent inpatient mental health care, EPIC charting system proficiency, and familiarity with pediatric and adolescent crisis intervention.
  • Float: Float to other units based on facility needs; float rotation may be required.
  • Patient Ratios: 4-5 patients per RN during day shifts, 2 RNs for 20 beds during night shifts.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must have a vehicle for this assignment. The facility supports interdisciplinary teams including social services, pharmacy, and unit support staff. Certifications required are BLS and Prevention and Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB). The patient population includes individuals aged 6-17 years, primarily admitted for mental health crises such as suicidal ideation, behavioral issues, or emotional dysregulation.
  • Scheduling & Requirements: Must be able to work three of the five holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day). All specific scheduling requests must be noted at time of application. References covering the last three years, with at least six months at a time, are required.
