Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing position is located in Marion, Illinois. This role involves providing critical care to a diverse patient population in a facility with 18 beds, including ICU and step-down level of care. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing complex clinical cases, performing neuro assessments, interpreting EKGs, and initiating advanced therapies, with a focus on patient safety and quality outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Illinois nursing license, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); 2 years of ICU experience preferred, at least 1 travel assignment completed; strong neuro assessment skills, NIHSS/dysphagia screening, tele/EKG interpretation (will require an exam on the first day), ventilation and endotracheal tube management, initiation/titration of sedatives, paralytics, cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, insulin, sepsis protocols, and therapeutic hypothermia following return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with tissue plasminogen activator (tPa) administration and assessments, massive transfusion protocols.
• Additional Information: The role requires a resilient, social candidate with excellent assessment and critical thinking skills, capable of managing change efficiently. The unit operates on a 12-hour night shift schedule, with every other weekend and holiday rotations. The facility implements a 40-mile radius rule for local candidates, and no COVID-19 vaccination is required at this time.
