Job Summary:
The Operating Room (OR) Specialist specializing in open heart procedures is based in Grand Forks, North Dakota. This role involves supporting cardiovascular surgical teams within the operating room setting, employing sterile techniques and assisting with complex cardiac and vascular surgeries. The technologist works as part of a team to ensure surgical procedures are performed efficiently and safely.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certifications including North Dakota Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in operating room open heart specialty. Candidates should have at least 2 completed assignments and travel experience. A valid North Dakota license prior to start date is required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in cardiovascular or open heart surgical settings, and familiarity with vascular and endovascular procedures.
• Additional Information: The candidate must submit a resume and skills checklist detailing individual procedures performed. The role includes assisting in surgical set-up, circulating duties, instrument care, and anesthesia support. Orientation and training of second heart scrub personnel may be involved. The facility accepts local travelers without a rate difference and has no radius restrictions.
