Description

Job Summary:
The Telemetry Medical Surgical Float Nurse position is located in Centennial, Colorado. This role involves providing patient care across multiple units within a healthcare organization, with a focus on telemetry and medical-surgical patients. The successful candidate will be expected to work overnight shifts and float within designated zones, adapting to various acuity levels and departments.

Job Details:

  • Location: Centennial, Colorado.
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licenses to submit, minimum of 2 years of experience in telemetry and medical-surgical nursing, certifications including BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS, and relevant experience in adult patient populations.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior neuro experience is preferred.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required. Nurses are expected to float throughout Zone 3, which includes facilities within approximately a 40-40 mile radius around Denver City Center, including locations in Lakewood, Longmont, and Westminster.
  • Patient Population: Adults, geriatrics, with common diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, oncology, renal, post-surgical patients, general medicine, and others.
  • Responsibilities: Caring for patients in telemetry and medical-surgical units, titrating drips such as heparin, and managing various acuity levels, including potential ICU or step-down areas.
  • Schedule Management: The schedule is made out by leadership 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Nurses may be scheduled at a single facility or assigned via just-in-time calls 1-2 hours prior to shift.
  • Additional Information: Orientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor. Role requires flexibility to float within Zone 3 and help fill scheduling gaps. May be asked to work weekends and participate in holiday rotations. A float assignment will be communicated prior to or on the first day of shift.
