Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in Charleston, South Carolina. This position involves caring for patients post-cardiac procedures such as PCI, PPM, ICD Ablations, CABG, and TAVRS, as well as patients with traches, chest tubes, titrating drips, CIWA, and strokes. The role requires proficient telemetry reading, patient education, discharge planning, and collaboration with physicians and ancillary departments, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting from 07/13/2026.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS and ACLS certifications, NIH stroke scale certification, ability to care for 4-5 PCU patients, including post-cardiac procedures and patients with specialized needs, proficient in telemetry strip reading, excellent time management skills.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with bedside shift reports, discharge planning, patient education, and familiarity with documentation systems such as Meditech.
• Additional Information: The unit has 27 beds with patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5, staffing includes 2-3 PCTs and 1 unit secretary. Float to ICU and ER is required for downgrades and patient transfers. The hospital is a Level II Trauma Center with specialized services and awards for stroke and chest pain care.
