Description

Job Summary:
Telemetry Nurse in North Charleston, South Carolina. The organization is seeking a qualified RN to provide patient care within a 29-bed telemetry unit. This role involves working nights, with a focus on caring for patients post cardiac procedures, and requires proficiency in telemetry monitoring and patient education. The position offers opportunities to work with advanced equipment and collaborative healthcare teams.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS & ACLS certifications, NIH Stroke Scale certification; 30 months of RN or LPN nursing experience; prior successful travel nursing assignment; ability to care for 6 telemetry patients including post cardiac procedures such as PCI, PPM, ICD or Ablations; proficient in reading telemetry strips; effective time management skills for planning care, discharge planning, and patient education
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with phlebotomy, respiratory treatments outside of ICU (inhalers and nebulizers), Foley catheter care, management of cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amio, Nitro, Dobutamine)
  • Additional Information: Floating policy applies, with travelers being the first to float, including potential assignments in emergency departments, telemetry monitoring rooms, or PCUs. The unit emphasizes bedside shift reports, AIDET communication, and RN/MD rounding for patient handoff. Certifications such as ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale are required. The uniform dress code is Navy attire.
