Description
Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse position available in Austin, Texas. This high acuity, Level 4 NICU unit requires experienced registered nurses to care for critically ill neonates and infants. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment with diverse neonatal cases, including prematurity, congenital defects, and cardiac and respiratory conditions.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license with at least 2 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, certification in neonatal care preferred.
- Patient Ratio: 1:1 for critical care, 1:2 for ICU status, 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU patients.
- Unit Description: High acuity/fast-paced Level 4 NICU, managing patients with HIE/Therapeutic Hypothermia, VLBW/ELBW (Prematurity), Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, Heart disease/defects, Surgical neonates, Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia, Arrhythmias, Congenital Birth Defects, Renal Failure.
- Patient Age Range: Neonatal through 1 year old; occasional older infants.
