Description
Job Summary:
Psychiatrist specializing in Pediatric Psychology is needed in Oregon City. The position involves providing mental health services to pediatric patients within a short-term acute care setting, serving a diverse age range from children to adolescents. The role requires adaptability to float between units and provide comprehensive psychiatric care aligned with established clinical protocols.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS); 0 years of experience; valid license or pending license verification; experience working with pediatric and adolescent patient populations; familiarity with electronic charting systems (Epic preferred).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in pediatric mental health settings; prior experience in hospital or community hospital environments; knowledge of pediatric psychiatric diagnoses such as anxiety, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use.
- Additional Information: Candidates must have their own vehicle for travel between assigned facilities. The position involves float responsibilities, including possible work at multiple sites based on operational needs. Candidates will be expected to work day and evening rotations, with available on-call and weekend coverage as specified. Candidates must be prepared to work in a team environment supported by interdisciplinary staff, including social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. Certification of Prevention and Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) is required. Flexibility in schedule and willingness to work on designated holidays is mandatory. Proper documentation of previous work experience at pediatric psychiatric units is required during the application process.
