Description

Job Summary:
An ICU (Intensive Care Unit) registered nurse position is available in a healthcare facility located in Thornton, Colorado. This role involves providing critical care for patients with complex health needs in a fast-paced environment. The position requires flexibility and a patient-centered approach to meet the demanding needs of critically ill patients.

Job Details:

  • Shift Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year current acute care hospital ICU experience, BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
  • Preferred Qualifications: TNCC certification and Meditech experience are highly desirable.
  • Unit Information: The ICU is a newer, expanded unit with 28 beds across two pods, staffed with 42 team members. The unit cares for neuro surgical, trauma (level III, transitioning to level II), cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, and all vented patients. Typical patient ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity, and the unit is equipped with advanced technology including Pyxis medication dispensing, GE bedside monitors, and electronic medical records via Meditech.
  • Personality Fit: Candidates should demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, a positive attitude, and a patient-centered focus. The unit values staff who are welcoming and appreciative of travelers.
  • Additional Information: The unit has recently opened a new ICU expansion, possesses experienced staff including intensivists available 24/7, and is preparing for a level II trauma survey this year. The facility maintains a patient census typically ranging from 100-125 patients, with a staff committed to education and quality care.
