Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Surgical Technician with pediatric operating room experience for a position in Baltimore, Maryland. The role involves supporting a specialized pediatric operating room team that provides a full range of cardiac, general, neuro, orthopedics, plastics, gynecology, ear, nose, and throat procedures, along with trauma and ophthalmology surgeries. The position requires working in a high-acuity environment to assist with surgical procedures and ensuring patient safety and care.
Job Details:
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland
- Schedule: Dayshift; 40 hours per week with no guaranteed hours; typically four 10-hour shifts.
- Start Date: 07/20/2026
- Required Qualifications:
- Current pediatric operating room experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 4 to 5 years plus surgical technician experience
- Completion of a surgical technician program (certification not required)
- Additional Information:
- On-call responsibilities as assigned by the unit, with 4-6 calls per 6-week schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Orientation sessions scheduled on the second and fourth Monday of each month; candidates must clear orientation by 5 PM the Thursday before it begins
- Previous employment with any Johns Hopkins health system facility must be noted on the coversheet and within the work history for verification of rehire status, regardless of how long ago it was.
- Candidates must have at least one full year of absence from any Johns Hopkins facility before applying for a travel position if previously employed there.
