Description

Job Summary:
Certified Operating Room Technician (ORT CERT) in Presque Isle, Maine. This position involves supporting surgical cases across a variety of specialties, including General surgeries, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, Orthopedics, and Trauma. The role requires managing a high volume of cases in a fast-paced environment, with after-hours on-call responsibilities.

Job Details:

  • Location: 140 Academy Street, Presque Isle, Maine
  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 06:30 to 15:00, with weekend on-call rotation only for emergent cases.
  • Required Qualifications: Certification as a Certified Operating Room Technician (CST or TSC through NCCT), BLS certification, at least 2 years of experience working in an operative setting supporting various surgical specialties, including experience with after-hours and on-call cases.
  • Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification, experience with trauma, ER C-sections, emergency general cases, and heavy orthopedic cases including total joints.
  • Responsibilities include assisting in open and laparoscopic surgeries such as bowel, gallbladder, appendix, hernias, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, gynecology, and orthopedic trauma. ORT will support the surgical team in intraoperative activities, manage equipment, and ensure patient safety throughout procedures.
  • Support on the Unit: Supervisor, OR Educator, CRNA staff will manage surgical rooms.
  • Technology/Equipment: Cerner EMR system, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing.
  • Orientation: Approximately 2 weeks, depending on skillset and comfort level.
