Description

Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Concord, North Carolina. This role involves providing specialized perioperative patient care in a fast-paced, Level 3 Trauma Center with assorted surgical specialties including trauma, orthopedics, spine, cardiac, vascular, gynecology, robotics, and more. The position requires a dynamic team player adept at managing various surgical cases and supporting the OR team during both scheduled and emergency procedures.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: BLS certification; minimum of 5 years of OR nursing experience; active RN license; experience circulating in trauma, ortho trauma, spine, cardiac, vascular, gynecology, robotics, general surgery, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain, plastics; flexibility and self-motivation to accommodate case requests; experience with laparoscopic and open belly cases preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification is preferred but not required.
  • Support within the Department: Service line clinical supervisors, charge nurses, educators, OR assistants, unit secretaries, technical engineers.
  • Technology/Equipment: Typical surgical and OR-specific equipment utilized in a high-volume surgical setting.
  • Floating: No floating required.
  • Orientation: Department-specific orientation for 2 days.
  • Scheduling: Every 4th weekend rotation, with scheduled shifts generally from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and call shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekends.
  • Call Requirement: Average of 6 call shifts per 6-week schedule with a 45-minute response time; call hours are from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. and on weekends as specified.
  • Holiday Schedule: Travelers will work approximately 75% of holidays.
  • RTO (Request for Time Off): Requires manager approval.
  • Schedule Cycle: Six-week rotation cycle.
  • Other Notes: Scrub color is provided; parking is free; OR culture emphasizes teamwork and adaptability.
