Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical with Telemetry Nurse for a day shift position at a healthcare facility located in Asheville, North Carolina. This role involves providing high-quality patient care on a 38-bed unit utilizing standard medical-surgical and telemetry procedures. The position is suitable for candidates with practical nursing experience seeking an opportunity in a dynamic medical-surgical environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); medical-surgical nursing experience; no minimum years of experience specified; must be willing to float to other medical surgical units and emergency department holding units
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse experience; experience with procedures such as peripheral IV starts and dressing changes; team-oriented attitude with a positive demeanor and willingness to assist others
- Additional Information: Typical responsibilities include managing patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1 during day shifts and 7:1 during night shifts. The unit is equipped with Baxter intravenous pumps, wound vacs, sequential compression devices, and other standard medical-surgical equipment. EMR used is Cerner Powerchart. Dress code is navy or white scrubs.
