Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse specializing in Open Heart procedures in Alexandria, Louisiana. This full-time role involves providing routine and complex perioperative nursing care in a clinical setting. The position requires independent practice, adherence to standards, and the ability to coordinate and delegate responsibilities to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred; 0 years of experience required; BLS and ACLS certifications via the American Heart Association; RN license in the state of employment or a compact license.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the operating room, specifically with open heart procedures, is preferred.
• Additional Information: The candidate will assist in administering medications and treatments, monitor for side effects, document patient information, assess learning needs, and provide education to patients and their families. The role includes making appropriate assignments and delegations, and following clinical protocols and standards of practice.
