Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Madison, Wisconsin. This position involves providing family-centered care for critically ill or injured pediatric patients in a state-of-the-art unit. The role includes managing complex medical and surgical cases, with a focus on high-acuity patient care in a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/17/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact state license; at least 2 years of recent acute care experience in pediatric or CVICU units; certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); EPIC electronic health record experience; ability to pass Telemetry test prior to starting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-acuity pediatric patients, including ECMO, CRRT, and advanced ventilator management.
- Additional Information: This position requires float capability to NICU and general pediatric care areas as needed. The facility cares for a diverse patient age range, from neonates to adolescents, with daily patient census averaging 18. Candidate must be able to effectively manage complex pediatric cases such as head injuries, neurological disorders, cardiac anomalies, organ transplants, and multi-system failure. Strict testing and licensing verification are required prior to start.
