Description
Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Wichita, Kansas. This role involves providing specialized acute care to patients requiring close monitoring and support, with an emphasis on cardiac, respiratory, and post-surgical care. The position offers an opportunity to work in a technologically advanced environment with experienced staff, supporting professional growth and patient outcomes.
Job Details:
- Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, at least 1 year of current acute care hospital PCU experience, certifications including ACLS and BLS, and a current state licensure in Kansas
- Preferred Qualifications: BSN degree, leadership experience such as relief charge, and skills in dysrhythmia interpretation
- Unit Information: 8 beds, staffed by 3 nurses during day shifts and 2 during night shifts, with a patient ratio of 1:4. Equipment includes EKG, bipap/cpap, heated high flow, and cardiac respiratory monitor. EMR system used is Meditech.
- Typical Procedures: Cardiac monitoring, medication management, respiratory support, post-surgical care, and blood transfusions.
- Additional Information: The unit utilizes new equipment and technology, with a staff experienced in cardiac, respiratory, and post-surgical care, offering a dynamic and team-oriented environment.
