Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse specializing in open heart cases in Gainesville, Florida. This position involves providing high-level pediatric acute care for complex cardiac patients within a Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment. The role offers valuable experience in a top-rated academic medical system dedicated to pediatric cardiac intensive care.

Job Details

  • Shift: 12-Hour Nights, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, variable days
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Schedule: Night shift with required holiday and weekend hours, must be open to floating, no block scheduling available
  • Minimum Qualifications: 2-3 years of recent RN experience in a Level II or Level III Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or open heart Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), documented open heart PICU experience, prior travel experience, recent EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience, active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact RN license at time of submission, active certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Additional Requirements: No employment gaps over 30 days without explanation, current professional reference within 12 months, successful completion of specialty assessment and EKG examination with minimum score of 80%, accurate rhythm mapping and interpretation, and compliance with Florida state health regulations
  • Travel: Not required; however, floating to multiple units may be necessary
