Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position in Bangor, Maine. This role involves providing comprehensive obstetric and neonatal care in a Level III NICU environment. The shift is scheduled for nights, with a focus on supporting both mother and baby through various stages of labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification, MOAB certification; at least 2 years of labor and delivery experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience assisting with cervical ripening, fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and lactation support.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to Mother Baby, but primarily covers Antepartum, Postpartum, or Newborn Nursery units.
  • Additional Information: Responsible for labor induction titration, fetal monitoring, assisting with epidurals, managing insulin and magnesium drips, neonatal resuscitation, and providing lactation support. Involves setup for vaginal deliveries, assisting with repairs, OR setup, and transport duties. Support staff includes unit secretaries, CSTs, charge nurses, and 24/7 access to anesthesia, house supervisors, respiratory therapy, and OB providers. Orientation includes a total of 3 days with preceptors and training. No call required, with an option to pick up call shifts. Night shift begins at 7:00 PM and ends at 7:30 AM.
