Job Summary:
This Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Elmira, New York. The role involves working on a high-acuity, fast-paced adult medical-surgical unit specializing in stroke and telemetry patient care. The RN will perform neurological assessments, monitor telemetry rhythms, ensure compliance with stroke core measures, administer medications, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide safe, evidence-based care.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, ability to read basic rhythm strips, work with primary and team nursing, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and work in the United States within New York state.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for stroke and telemetry patients, strong clinical assessment skills, and effective interdisciplinary communication.
• Additional Information: The RN will perform frequent neurological assessments including NIHSS, monitor telemetry rhythms, ensure stroke core measure compliance, coordinate patient care with the team, and manage admissions and discharges in a high-turnover environment.
