Description
Job Summary:
Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at a Level I trauma center in Saint Louis, Missouri. This role involves managing complex postoperative patients, including those on vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovering from general anesthesia. The position requires at least one year of critical care or trauma Level I experience and involves night shift hours.
Job Details:
- Location: Saint Louis, MO
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), Vent management, IV starting, Telemetry, Critical Care experience
- Education Requirements: RN license in Missouri or equivalent compact license; license in hand required at time of submission for Illinois
- Additional Experience: PACU, Critical Care, Level I Trauma Center experience
- Additional Requirements: Must pass Relias EKG exam and interpret/manage dysrhythmias
- Work Experience: At least 1 year of critical care or trauma ICU experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level II experience
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours minimum per week, with on-call responsibilities 24 hours per 6-week schedule period
- Special Requirements: Proficiency in managing complicated postoperative patients including multiple drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from anesthesia. Willingness to pre-op patients for first cases from 0530-0730 when no patients are in PACU.
- Additional Information:
- Must pass Relias EKG exam.
- Night nurses are expected to pre-op patients for first cases from 0530-0730 when no patients are present in PACU.
- No local candidates within 75 miles of the facility.
- Valid MO or IL licensure required.
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted; all RTO must be finalized at the time of submission.
- Orientation includes 40 hours and parking in designated garages; straight night shift allows free employee parking.
- Will need to complete required lab and module trainings prior to start date.
