Description
Job Summary:
The Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Baltimore, Maryland. This role involves providing post-operative care for vascular, kidney, and liver transplant patients, performing comprehensive assessments, monitoring graft function, managing laboratory and vital sign parameters, and administering immunosuppressants, anticoagulation, and pain control. The position requires a dedication to patient safety and collaborative teamwork in a fast-paced transplant recovery environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, starting on 08/03/2026
- Required Qualifications: Active MD or Compact RN license, ACLS certification, BLS certification, minimum 2 years of IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit) experience, experience with patient ratios of 3-4 patients, and familiarity with charting using Epic software.
- Preferred Qualifications: Transplant experience, experience with acute hospital settings, and knowledge of organ-specific diseases such as ESRD, cirrhosis, and heart failure.
- Float: Float within the specialty, other units, and sister facilities within scope may be required.
- Additional Information: The role involves working in a 27-bed unit that provides post-operative care for vascular, kidney, and liver transplant patients. The RN must monitor for complications such as rejection or infection, interpret lab results, coordinate medication adjustments, and offer psychosocial support. Compliance with facility policies, including mandatory CPI certification and recent labs within 72 hours of start, is required.
