Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse (RN) position available in a healthcare facility located in McCall, Idaho. The role involves providing care for patients post orthopedic surgeries, with common diagnoses including COPD, CHF, general surgical procedures, atrial fibrillation/atrial flutter, myocardial infarction, and chest pain assessments. Candidates will be responsible for titrating certain drips and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts starting at 7:00 PM or 7:00 AM; 3 shifts per week with self-scheduling to fill gaps; potential consideration for block scheduling to meet unit needs.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Idaho; minimum of 1 year of RN experience; certifications including BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Medical Surgical (MS) unit, experience with ventilator management, and telemonitoring skills.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to cover ER and other units; primarily on the Medical Surgical unit.
• Additional Information: The unit operates with a charge nurse covering house-wide duties, including supervision of Labor & Delivery. One CNA is available to assist with patient care activities such as vital signs, ADLs, Foley removals, sterile procedures, and IV starts/removals. Equipment includes nasal cannula, high flow oxygen, Cpap, and Bipap. The RN should be able to read basic telemonitoring data. Orientation includes 1-2 shifts on the unit. The facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule for candidates, with verification of address required prior to review.
