Description
Job Summary:
Telemetry Medical Surgical Float Registered Nurse (RN) position in Weirton, West Virginia. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care across various units, including telemetry, medical-surgical, and critical care areas. The position requires flexibility, strong clinical skills, and the ability to adapt to different patient acuity levels within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Job Details:
- Shift: 12-hour days, with weekends as scheduled
- Start Date: 07/27/2026
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS; minimum of 5 years of nursing experience
- Qualifications:
- Valid nursing license with the ability to submit verification
- Experience in telemetry, medical-surgical, or ICU settings preferred
- Ability to manage critical drips such as Heparin, with proficiency in titration if working in ED or CCU
- Comfortable floating to lower acuity units within skillset
- Adept at troubleshooting respiratory equipment (Vents, BiPAP, C-PAP, etc.) and reading telemonitor strips
- Capable of autonomous charting using systems such as Cerner
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability are essential
- Experience or Skills:
- Preference for candidates with at least 1 year of ICU or ED experience
- Flexible and multi-functional approach to patient care
- Ability to manage patient ratios ranging from 1:2 to 1:10, depending on the unit
- Schedule & Flexibility:
- Self-scheduling available; working three 12-hour shifts per week
- The schedule is made out for four weeks at a time
- Will receive assignments via text message within two hours prior to shift start
- Expected to help fill staffing gaps and assist with unit coverage
- Duties:
- ADLs, vital signs, bathing, toileting, feeding, repositioning, answering call lights, blood sugar monitoring
- Administering breathing treatments and managing respiratory equipment
- Reading and interpreting telemonitor strips
- Managing patient care across multiple units, including telemetry and medical-surgical floors
