Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) position in Boise, Idaho. This role involves providing care on a MedSurg floor with a variety of patient populations including ortho, ENT, eyes, sepsis, and pediatrics. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and adhering to facility protocols.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., including weekends as needed and potential floating to other units or medical centers.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; BLS (AHA) certification; minimum of 1 year of experience as a registered nurse; willingness to learn and ask questions; urgent care skills including patient assessment and monitoring.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Medical Surgical units; familiarity with EPIC charting system; ability to interpret telemetry readings; pediatric ACLS certification preferred.
- Float: May float to similar units within the facility or to affiliated medical centers, excluding specialty patients.
- Additional Information: One day of orientation on the unit will be provided. The facility adheres to a 50-mile radius rule and requires candidates permanent address to confirm eligibility. The unit maintains patient ratios of approximately 1:5, with additional staff support including charge nurses, assistant managers, and a unit-based educator. Equipment includes high-flow oxygen, CPAP, and BiPAP devices. The unit manages diverse patient conditions, from post-operative care to critical sepsis management.
