Description

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse position in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This role involves providing critical care to patients with complex conditions on a 30-bed medical-surgical unit that may expand based on COVID-19 volume. The ICU nurse will support patient monitoring, mechanical ventilation management, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts with 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Active RN license in a compact state or South Dakota, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association). Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with mechanical ventilation, telemetry, oxygen titration, and moderate sedation. Specialty certifications such as Progressive Care Nursing or Critical Care Certification are preferred.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to over units/departments including Med-Surg and step-down units.
  • Additional Information:
    • Day 1: Competencies validated concerning telemetry and mechanical ventilation via online modules and self-assessment from 0700-1930.
    • Day 2: Unit orientation with preceptor involving patient care, unit tour, POCT testing, and competency validation from 0700-1930.
    • Day 3: 12-hour shift on the unit.
    • The unit provides critical care experience focusing on safe patient outcomes for a diverse patient population including pulmonary, cardiac, and post-operative cases.
