Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse - Austin, TX. This role involves providing post-operative care to pediatric patients, following aseptic sterile techniques in accordance with established standards. The position requires evaluating patient responses to treatments, managing pain, and anticipating case-specific needs based on procedural knowledge and understanding of pathophysiology. The work location features various unit areas including pre-operative, post-anesthesia recovery, and operating rooms.

Job Details:

• Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Shift: Days, 8-hour shifts
• Schedule: Minimum of 40 hours per week
• Start Date: August 9, 2026
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in pediatric care or relevant licenses, current healthcare provider license, at least 2 years of pediatric experience, previous PACU experience, and ability to work in the specified location.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with aseptic sterile technique according to the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN) standards, pediatric care expertise, and prior experience in a trauma Level III unit.
• Additional Information: The facility features 13 beds in Pre-Op, 14 beds in PACU, and 4 operating rooms, with a focus on pediatric surgical and post-surgical care. Candidates should be prepared to float between Pre-Op and PACU units as needed.
