Description

Job Summary:
Pediatric Intermediate Care Nurse in Little Rock, Arkansas. This role involves working on a specialized pediatric unit that manages patients with respiratory distress, post-procedural care, chronic vents, and other step-down diagnoses from intensive care. The position requires adaptability, experience with EPIC electronic medical records, and will involve floating to other units as necessary to meet patient care needs.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts with every other weekend, holidays as needed. Shift hours are 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, two years of clinical experience in pediatric or intermediate care, recent experience with EPIC electronic health records, and prior travel experience preferred. All candidates must have some PICU experience due to floating requirements.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with recent pediatric care, familiarity with equipment such as Pyxis with bar code scanning, GE Dash, SERVI I, and long-term vents in the IMCU.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information:
    • Child Life & Education specialists actively evaluate each patient for education needs during prolonged hospitalization.
    • Patient population includes respiratory distress, DKA, chronic vents, trachs, and step-down diagnoses from ICU.
    • Visitation policy allows two parents to stay at the bedside.
    • In the Post-Operative Cardiac section, care is provided in the CVICU setting, including transplants and other complex procedures.
    • Equipment such as Pyxis with barcode scanning, pharmacy dose systems, GE Dash, and ECMO in the CVICU are utilized for patient care.
    • In-house transport systems and respiratory therapy are available for ventilator management.
