Description

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse position is available within a 14-bed ICU unit at a healthcare facility. The role involves providing specialized care to critically ill patients, including managing complex procedures such as intubations, central line insertions, chest tubes, and ventilator management. The position requires working rotating shifts on a 12-hour schedule, with every other weekend working, and includes floating responsibilities to other units based on census.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid ND or compact state RN license; BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association; minimum of 2 years of ICU experience with competency in central line cares, chest tubes, foleys, ART lines, trach cares, Vents, proning, pressors, sedation, Impella, and balloon pumps.
  • Preferred Qualifications: TNCC certification.
  • Float: Float to other ICU overflow areas or med-surgical units, including occasionally to COVID units with ICU patients.
  • Additional Information: The ICU team includes a full-time intensivist, one Advanced Practice Provider during day shifts, and respiratory therapists. Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2, with some patients requiring 1:1 care. The unit uses EPIC charting, Omnicell, Alaris IV pumps, ventilators, and central monitoring systems. All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility and wear navy blue scrubs.
