Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Cortez, Colorado. This role involves providing compassionate and expert nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on patient-centered care, utilizing advanced nursing skills to ensure the safety and comfort of mothers and newborns.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The position requires working three night shifts and one day shift, with 48 guaranteed hours for candidates willing to work these shifts.
  • Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Associate degree required; bachelors degree preferred. Current state Registered Nurse Licensure in Colorado or an accepted compact license (Colorado license must be obtained within first 90 days of hire). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications. Successful completion of EKG course within 4 months of hire.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 4 months of hire, and previous inpatient or ICU experience preferred.
  • Additional Information: The nurse must demonstrate knowledge of fetal monitoring, fetal and neonatal care, and emergency procedures such as Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI). Responsibilities include monitoring fetal status, administering medications, assisting during delivery, and providing postpartum care. The role may require exposure to infectious waste and environmental factors, with physical demands including lifting and moving patients, and working in a moderate to loud noise environment.
  • Work Environment: The position involves potential exposure to chemicals, biological hazards, and variable environmental conditions. Candidates should be prepared for physical activities such as kneeling, reaching, and lifting, with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
