Description

Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse in Omaha, Nebraska. This position involves providing postoperative patient care in a busy PACU setting, ensuring patient stability and recovery following surgical procedures. The role requires a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in preoperative and postoperative recovery.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts with a mix of 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts; 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU or perioperative nursing, current certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system, strong knowledge of surgical procedures including ortho, bariatrics, general surgery, urology, and spine cases.
  • Float: Float between preoperative, PACU, and Phase II recovery areas may be required.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must have a valid driver's license for verification purposes. RTO (Reason To Operate) requests of 7 days or less are accepted upfront; additional requests will not be approved. The facility's orientation includes one week of classroom training followed by one week of department-specific training. The shift involves weekend, holiday, and call coverage approximately every 5-6 weekends.
  • Certifications required at submission: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
