Description

Job Summary:

This Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse position is located in Lubbock, Texas. The role involves providing nursing care on a general inpatient unit, with an emphasis on patient-centered care, including use of rapid response teams, peripheral line management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions. The candidate will be expected to support a team-oriented environment across a busy 379-bed short-term acute care facility.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Texas license, at least 1 year of nursing experience, current BLS certification, experience with Med/Surg nursing, use of rapid response/team call systems, peripheral line care, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen therapy, isolation precautions/PPE, and familiarity with charting systems.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Level II Trauma Center or community hospital setting; trauma level II experience is desired.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required between units or sister facilities.
  • Additional Information: Candidates are expected to work three of the five designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). All specific scheduling requests and RTO (reasons to absence) must be submitted during application; retrospective requests may not be considered. References covering the last three years are required. Candidates must have a valid compact or state-specific license in hand at the time of submission. Travelers' refusal to float may result in contract termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours.
